Terms of Use

What this is

Tetrachrome is a personal, research-stage search project: a search index built from a curated set of crawled sources, with an admin dashboard for the operator running it. The public search site is hosted on Google Cloud Run; the crawler and admin dashboard run privately and are never exposed to the public internet. It is not a commercial product, and there is no signup, account, or subscription of any kind.

This is early-stage software. Expect rough edges, indexing gaps, and occasional incorrect or outdated results. It is provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Search results

Results, snippets, and images shown by Tetrachrome are drawn from third-party sites during crawling and reflect the state of those pages at crawl time — they may be stale, and Tetrachrome is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or availability of the content on any site it links to. Clicking a result takes you to that site directly; that site's own terms and policies apply from that point on.

Acceptable use

Don't use Tetrachrome to attempt to disrupt, overload, or circumvent access controls on the service or on the sites it indexes. Don't use it to republish indexed content at scale in a way that would infringe the rights of the original publishers — see Content & Copyright for how Tetrachrome itself handles that.

No liability

To the extent permitted by law, Tetrachrome and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of, or inability to use, this service, including reliance on search results that turn out to be inaccurate or outdated.

Changes

These terms may change as the project evolves; the version in this repository at any given time is the current one.
